I've had terrible trouble getting out of my Shimano M530 Pedals on the Giro. Even at the loosest setting, it took WAY too much effort to disengage (worrisome to a newbie back on 2 wheels). Found a pair of Crank Brothers Candy 1 pedals at Performance on sale for only $39, and my worries are over. At least the unclipping part.

And if you like frogs, you'll love bebops! The cleats never wear out.

Jay gave me my first set of Frogs.  I now have 3 sets on various trikes in the family!  Love them, especially for the kids, and the occasional riders in my family.  They also have a fair amount of float/play before actually unclipping.
