I've had terrible trouble getting out of my Shimano M530 Pedals on the Giro. Even at the loosest setting, it took WAY too much effort to disengage (worrisome to a newbie back on 2 wheels). Found a pair of Crank Brothers Candy 1 pedals at Performance on sale for only $39, and my worries are over. At least the unclipping part. [smiley=dancer.gif]

if you like the crank bros, you would love the speedplay frogs! zero tension for release.

It's not the cleats I wear out, it's the pedal bodies. I keep chipping the inner stop off of the pedal.

Jay gave me my first set of Frogs. I now have 3 sets on various trikes in the family! Love them, especially for the kids, and the occasional riders in my family. They also have a fair amount of float/play before actually unclipping.
