Upcoming Pay Rides
Apr 13th, 2008, 8:39pm

With a great RBENT turnout for the Lancaster ride yesterday, let's start planning a larger RBENT gathering for upcoming pay rides.

Here is our tentative plans.  What is yours Grin
Ray and I are doing the (hilly) Granbury ride this Saturday 4-19
May 17- Cross Timbers (Flower Mound)  - riders get to experience riding inside of TMS
May 24 - Burleson
June 7 - Mesquite
June 14 - Collin Classic
June 21 - Italy (yeah - everybody's gotta do this one)
July 19 - Paris (probably the flattest pay ride)
July 26 - Gotneck (Ray has the course record for the 10 mile race - 22 min.)

For the love of god, don't do the mesquite ride.  They should call it the Mesquite Pothole ride instead.  Horrible pavement, gravel everywhere, etc.  It's a risky rider and I think most of us who did it last year aren't going back.

Cross timber is fun, and I expect to do it again.

For me, here is my tentative schedule:
April 26 - Muenster or the Cleburne 200k
May 3 - Calvin's Challenge (race)
May 10 - Horse Country Time Trial
May 17 - Cross Timbers (GREAT RIDE)
May 24 - Mineral Wells - probably 300k
May 31 - Rbent 40 miler

Glad to hear that SlowRider is ready for another ride.  I'm up for Muenster, Collin Classic, the 5/31 R-Bent 40 miler.  Carolyn and I are riding Free Wheel this year ( across Oklahoma) the week of June 8 - 14 so wish us luck.  It's hilly.  Don't forget.

August 23--Hotter N' Hell ( might as well get it on the calendar)

June 21 - Italy
August 23rd HHH distance to be determined by how we do in Cross Timbers but we may both be on recumbents by then, she is given her bike E to her father so she needs a new recumbent Wink

Here's what I'm planning on doing (weather permitting). Can't vouch for which ones the wife can do..

26 Apr Muenster
31 May Magnolia
7 Jun Mesquite (although now having 2nd thoughts w the bad roads)
21 Jun Italy
28 Jun Stephenville (maybe)
12 Jul Peach Pedal
19 Jul Paris
26 Jul Goatneck (maybe)
23 Aug HHH
26 Sep Autumn in Bonham

I think that's enough.

irdoguy: I don't have elevation data but Paris reminds me of HHH except w trees and plants and grass, etc. Now, if you've never done HHH, this doesn't help.
