back from the dead
Sep 30th, 2020, 10:42am

Two weeks ago I suffered chest pains and went to the emergency ward.
Next thing I knew I was in surgical. They told me I had a major heat attack. They went in and put three stents.
Two arteries were clogged and a third was closed.

Then came recovery. I spent every day in bed.  There was even an alarm that would go if I even attempted to get out.
They gave me a basket of pills every day.

Then I was discharged. No that didn't me I could go home,  I was sent to a rehab facility and put in bed.
Ever try to pee in a bottle while flat on your back?

They let me go Tuesday 9/29 home to my overprotective wife.
She threw out anything that had a trace of salt in it

Now I am home and able to get around except i  am weak as a Kitten.
Now I have hours of exercise to look forward to but I expect  I will be back on the trike eventually.

I was just thinking last night I should send an email to ask how you are and send best wishes as I heard about the stents but not the rest. That is downright scary. Glad you are home and hopefully beyond the worst of it - now the road back but the prize is getting back to the trike. Thankfully you have the e-assist to help with that Glad all went well and hope all continues to go well, John!

John you may be week as a kitten, but we all know they eventually get really strong and fast.  Just ask me about the three that adopted me.  Smiley Keep working and we'll see you soon.  That means that I'll have to get back over to White Rock.  Smiley Take care of yourself.

John,
WOW! Glad you are now home and under the watch eye of your wife. It will take time but you'll get there. You will be back riding soon.

It's always a good thing to cheat death!  It will take time, but you WILL be back on the trike.  As for the bottle in bed, yeah, I've mastered that.

PS. Tell Shirley it wasn't the salt.

I tied but it is no use, I am doomed.  On the other hand she cooks breakfast now, that's a first.

I was really surprised as how low on stamina I am. This morning I got up and got dressed then went back to bed to rest.

John that stands to reason considering what you have been through. I do the same and I have no excuse except when breakfast is not ready.

Just when I thought I was on the mend they sent me for a Necular stress teat.
Now the doctor says there is something he needs to look at it so I may be going back in so he can look at my tubing.

After discharge from the rehab I thought I was done with everything but the doctor had me go to the clinic for a check and i ended up with two more stents.
So Now I have five stents.
The difference is that I did not have a hospitable stay and I feel the same as before.
This week I am going to try getting back on the trike. That is if the wife will let me. That could be a problem.

Good to see you at the Cotton (Chipseal) Patch ride a couple weeks ago, on your "anniversary" of all this....

I spent 4 hours in the hospitable for a 15 minute procedure. I was to get there at 8:00 get prepped and have the procedure st 10:00.
Well the Doctor showed up at 11:30.
Well it seems that the procedure was successful I can walk without my cane, no pain.
but I am not allowed to bend over, carry anything over 5 pounds or twist. That puts a lots of restrictions on what I do. Also I cann0t ride for 3 weeks.

About 3 weeks from now I expect we will have a cold front come in and it will be too cold to ride.

Good to hear, John. Ken mentioned last week that you were going in to get your sciatica fixed. Sounds like that was successful and you'll hopefully get back to normal, soon, and on the bike!
