Trinity Trail 100
Sep 26th, 2020, 5:54am

On the west side of DFW, Tuesday is looking to be a really nice day.  In August I did 66 miles on my 66th birthday along the Trinity and had been looking to do a 100 at some point when the weather turned. Which is great, it's the day before a follow up visit with one of my cancer doctors.  I'll park where I work on the east side of downtown Ft. Worth and self support myself doing out and backs starting at daylight.

Was a nice day to ride.  102.03 in 6:22.  Got windier than I thought was forecast near the end.

I’ve ridden from the east end(820) to benbrook And if I remember correctly that’s about 50 miles round trip.  Curious if there is parts of this I’m missing or how you managed 100 on it.

I work at the Purina plant downtown so I park there to self support and can get on 5 different trailheads within a mile.  In this case, I got on and off where the old Bertha Collins Rec center was off Chambers.  Rode it out to 183 and cut over to River Park Drive for a mile or so, close to where Greg lives or still lives and headed back for the first loop which was just over 30 miles.  Resupplied and did it again but on the way back, I did the low water crossing to get on Bellaire Drive and went to the Art Cowsen trailhead, which added 7.5 miles and headed back to resupply.  Repeated the first loop.  Yes, there are other variants to choose from.  Like getting over to Gateway Park.  I rarely go over there because it seems like whenever I do, I get a flat.  This is what I wanted to do that day so was no big deal.
