Decent trike that won't break the bank?
Aug 24th, 2020, 10:34am

Just an update from a founding member of RBENT.

I moved to the Inland Northwest about 3 years ago, and have been riding an old BikeE on the trails here.  Looking to possibly upgrade to a recumbent tadpole trike.

I have been seeing a lot of recumbent trikes on the trails.  But I haven't been paying much attention to the market.  About 20 years ago I owned one of those expensive British made trikes, can't even recall the brand.  Looking for something dirt cheap to do short rides with the family on gravel rail trails like the Route of the Hiawatha and the Centennial trail.

What's the current state of the art in low cost off road recumbent trikes?

Sounds like you may have had an old Windcheetah.  Dirt cheap would have to be an older, used trike, putting offroad-tolerant tires on it.  There are big tired trikes available, but you would probably have to pay new trike prices for it, and wait on delivery.  The trike market is hot!
