Yeah, its almost a dollar a mile .. a small amount of complaints about the price;  There was a discount code on the PBA site but I can't find it now  Angry

But there is a $10k prize to the UCI qualified winner, that leaves us out.

Who says it leaves us out  Smiley

Their UCI link isn't to the technical manual, nor are they requiring a race license.     To quote "UCI Road competition that apply will be enforced. To review UCI Road competition guidelines click here."

I just looked on their webpage and couldn't find a contact info .. not that I'm in shape to actually win this thing, those days are long gone,  but I thought I'd ask anyway

Hey Joe, if it goes through Sanger, Denton, Krum, Ponder, and Roanoke, I am in! But, if it is going to cost anywhere near $100, it would have to have the Cowboy's Cheer Leaders there, not Emmit!Lol.

Now's your chance, open to all confirmed from the race director!

Good morning Chris,

No, you do not need to be a professional. All registered participants for the 100-mile are eligible to win the purse.

Thanks,
Lauren

I did it in the Milan,   But I sucked and the road sucked ..  There were some beautiful streets at the start (and end)  but  after that ..  There were "Texas Time Trial"  Class roads out there ..  Seriously rough roads .. Several people went down .. I dont know the formal count ( I saw 4 working accidents on the way back in )  and I have personal knowledge of one accident which happened about 20 yards in front of me when a riders front wheel went into a hole in the street and it stopped while the rest of things continued ..

That said the corner marshaling was  one of the best at the major intersections and the worst at the minor ..      In Celina for example they routed us around downtown and onto some side streets;  they had marshaling all through the downtown area but NOT at the side streets ..   You found something where there was an string of of  M M 2 2 4 2  M M   where the "M" was a marshaled intersection,  but 2 was a 2 way stop (with the route having the stop) and 4 was a 4 way stop  .. I was riding with a group through one of these and there was a brake slamming contest between some cars and bikes when a 2 way intersection was approached and the car had the right of way ..

All that said, I want to blame the roads for my performance, but I averaged   14.7 for the 100 and my power meter showed a 40 watt average (lower) overall output vs the HHH100 ..

I contacted Lauren, race director, and asked if I could use my fully faired, coroliner, recumbent next year and be eligible to win the money. She said yes, I would be eligible. Now all I have to do is train for that distance. I hope to do twice my age on my birthday in November, 128 miles.
