It's here, it's here! Replacing the cracked frame on the original Rocket took a bit longer than originally anticipated, but, finally...
This is a bit of a "one of a kind" machine, thanks to some personal touches by Jerrell at RANS... he felt bad about the frame crack.
1 - the frame is unpainted, polished bare aluminum. A pretty cool look, if you ask me -- although it's gonna be a job keeping fingerprints off of it!!!
And if I ever do decide to get it painted, we can strip it and do it easily.
2 -- the rear brake is a V-brake, not disc. I told him that I would probably never put a 20" on the rear, and that interchangeability was one reason they went with disc brakes on production. Jerrell added the brake mounts and brake.
3 -- the crossover idler is now a TerraCycle clamp-on idler, and the old center idler bracket is gone, removing the weld stress point in the middle of the frame. This is a change to production, on both Rocket and Rifle.
Thanks to John Paulus for doing the component swapout from the prior machine...
A little shoutout to John.... although I may ask him to put another sticker on, straighter...
