Had a nice ride, although battling those winds going north was kinda tough! It's always nice to have a tailwind for the second half of a ride, though.... Nine riders met up - Phil and Lauren Climer (GDB), Bob Millay, Lynn, Carolyn, Daniel, Matt, Terrie and Me. At 7:15, the sun was out and there was no wind -- but that soon changed! By ride time, the winds were already kicking up from the north pretty good, giving us a headwind all the way to Lavon.
This route is hillier than I remembered, and Terrie and I were constantly lagging behind on the climbs - including one hill where our gears slipped and we had to walk the last part. But, everybody was fine with the occasional regroup - thanks!!!
Carolyn coerced us to stop at her house instead of going to the gas station -- thanks for the stop and the tour, Carolyn! I cut the route a bit short due to the winds (which were about 15mph from the north on our way back) - so we wound up with 24 miles and change instead of the planned 30. We went to Joe Willy's afterwards, for lunch.
Thanks, all, for coming out to the East side!!!
