La-Z-Boy
Apr 2nd, 2013, 3:39pm

This morning at Barbec's, Kenny J gave me an article from Bicycling Magazine on selecting the appropriate saddle for a road bike. Here is an amusing excerpt from the end of the article: "If none of these options works for you, it could be time for what is either the scariest alternative of all or the very zenith of bicycling engineering, depending on your beliefs. I'm talking about the La-Z-Boy on wheels, otherwise known as the recumbent."  Cheesy

Thats Ok. If Mississippi could finally get around to ratifying the 13Th Amendment, I'm sure that Bicycling magazine will eventually come to accept recumbents on equal terms with other bikes.

Hey, I thought Bicycling Magazine was entertaining when I got it.  Not enough to pay for, of course.   Smiley  If I wanted any real information, I just went somewhere else!

I take this as a compliment! It means some recumbent rider got under their skin by passing at a high rate of speed while looking incredibly comfortable.

There is a video on YouTube that makes me mad called "recumbents can't climb" where some idiot is riding with a bunch of DF's and passing on the downhills, but then not shifting gears and falling over on the uphills. Dummy.

Best thing we can do is to keep spreading the good word and riding well.

And I won't be reading that magazine anymore. Boo!

There is also a video out there somewhere that shows a Bent rider on a high-racer of some sort, passing a ton of DF's like they were standing still, as they are all standing on their pedals up a fairly steep incline...

I believe that would be John Schlitter.

The Lightning folks used to have a video of their guy passing DFs on a steep hill.  Then there is the CruzBike claims--but we won't go into polarizing discussions...   Smiley
