Can you guys chime in on what setup you have as what rear derailer with bar end shifters?? ( 9 or 10 speed)
 Like 9 speed bar end shifter  w/high-normal rear derailer.
 
 
 I am wondering if i need to change it to 9 sp bar end w/ low-normal rear derailer?

You are asking a too general a question.  Ask, can I use a 6 speed shimano bar end shifter with a 10 speed dura-ace derailer? for example.  Or what cassette are you wanting to use.

Ok, had a look at my stick bike with bar ends. I would call it a low normal long cage derailuer.

I don't know, I don't care, it works, I ride.......

From what i read, the shifting is still in the same motion for low and high, It just the push and pull is different. I also read that the rapid rise spring pulls the dereailer to the low gears which is the big cog on back, which in return works better with bar end shifters because of the indexes.
 
 The rapid Rise derailer is making a comeback from what i heard.
 
 On my trike when i go from high to lower gears i have to push the shifter back up to the index click that i just pass the keep the chain from clicking like it trying to grab the next gear.But when i go from low to high it there without haveing to move shifter for finer tune of that gear.
 It may be that my bar end shifter is worn..

The way I've heard, low normal (spring pushes toward larger sprocket) is preferred by moutain bikers because they want a quicker downshift which low normal derailers allow.  Road Racers typically want a quicker upshift and high normal derailers (spring loaded to small sprocket) accommodate this characteristic.  
 
I have bar end shifters with my high normal on a Corsa and it works fine. I had a problem with cable stickiness when I first got the bike (used - 3500 miles) but used a good teflon lube when I changed cables and now do not have any issues - Crisp up and down shifts.
