Aledo Ride for the Heroes
Apr 16th, 2011, 1:59pm

Did the 44 mile route, fast for me.  No cramps and wasn't tired.  Maybe I need to start increasing my mileage.  Got to meet Shelly and her Dad, also John and Mike.  A few other bents spotted in the distance but don't know who they were.  At least 6 trikes I saw.
Cool enough for tights and jacket at the start but warmed up after an hour.  Road surfaces were reasonably good, some small pothols and cracks, but at least no boulderseal.
New Garmin Edge 800 working like a champ.  Someday I'll learn how to use all the features.

There was plenty of chipseal on the 60!  Man those hills were killer.  Nice to meet you!  Smiley

The chipseal wasn't so bad for me on the CA2.  But some of those 30+ mph downhills were kinda scary, especially when the road was a bit rough.
As for the hills it was either up or down for the entire 60 miles.

Here's the picture of myself and my dad that Robert took for us at the start line.  Thanks Robert!  Smiley
Sorry if the image is big, I wish I knew how to resize with these stupid tags!  I only know HTML...
