just Garmin 705 (Read 842 times)

goldentouch rbent member Posts: 143	just Garmin 705 Nov 5^th, 2010, 5:24pm I just purchased a Garmin 705 off Ebay. It looks like new and works fine. It doesn't have the North American Maps with it just the basic maps. My problem is the basic maps do not show the county roads. Does anyone know if the North American Maps will add this feature. I hate to spend a hundred dollars and not get what I need.

It is the same thing that loads into the car version. It is worth the money. You can also pick what states or area to load to save on memory. I bought a new memory card for it to make sure I had plenty of storage room.

Garmin sells a SD card that has all the roads in America and, I think, Canada.

The price is $79.00

Or you can get the maps on a DVD that includes software, (you need a computer) that allows you to draw routes, way-points etc. then upload it to your 705.

They used to be $100.00, that is what i paid. Hurry before the price goes down again.

It shouldn't be more than $100 for the maps, mine came with the Garmin and it shows everything
