East Texas Thanksgiving jaunt
Nov 26th, 2009, 6:38pm

Well, now I have additional appreciation for why they do RAAM from west to east, instead of east to west...  nothing like 90 miles of 5-10 mph headwinds from the WNW!  Combine that with chilly temps, and chipseal everywhere except for a blissful 10 miles or so across Hopkins county, and you get me calling Terrie to come meet me in Royse City to pick me up after a 99 mile beating... with a 14.5 average...

Good ride, only two dog chases, and I got some good pics as always, but boy am I tired...

It could be worse. You could average 14.5 mph with a tailwind like I do...

I look forward to seeing the photos.

The Wind is your friend. Come July and August, you look for wind.

From an old rider whose been there done that.
