The Question Is Now???
Feb 18th, 2009, 8:51pm

Bud and I went out for a ride at Lake Joe Pool Dam, I was riding my Rans X-Stream, Bud hooked me up so i can learn how to drink  water from Camel Back while riding.  I was having a very hard time...letting go of the left handle bar to reach down and grab the the drinking tube.  I tried it couple times, and failed to do so.  Finally Bud said....YOUR GONNA HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO DRINK WATER WITHOUT STOPPING ,when u ride long distance, your gonna have to learn ,that's just it!!!! I tried to explain, how much better control I have of bike, if i could reach with my right hand instead of left hand, (the water tube is on the left side of me..right next to my seat.)...Well...I finally did it...WOHO00000!  Smiley

A few min later, Bud said to me....THE QUESTION IS NOW....CAN YOU EAT A SANDWICH???? Smiley  Ok..thats the way im gonna finish this bike ride report!!!!!

A couple of thoughts --

1)  Is there enough tube length to reach up so it could clip to your collar, instead?

2) Concentrate on relaxing your steering -- and even attempt doing some riding with one hand, regardless of whether you're drinking or not.  Relax your grip!

and what is your favorite kind of sandwich?   Wink

Smiley Congrats Rose,I understand how reaching with the wrong hand can through you off, I have to get used to right hand turns on my bike, I am left handed so everything is backward to me.  Smiley

On my first bent I had a death grip on BOTH grips. I wouldn't let go for nothing. I had to stop just to scratch my nose.
Now I can ride for miles one-handed while I am taking pictures.
It gets better.

I've noticed the same thing, I'm much better holding single handed with my left hand than single handed with my right hand.  I figured it was just me.

Take Care,
