XStream prototype?
Oct 28th, 2008, 4:43pm

Randy brought up an interesting question to me...

Is there someone within the group that might be interested in purchasing the prototype XStream, at a nice price??? (Unknown by me at this point)  I've put roughly 1500 miles on it, per my BikeJournal logging...

For someone with a shorter XSeam measurement, this bike could be very nice, and give you the seat recline it really needs...  although you may want to have the cable housings changed to be able to flip the angled riser, to lower the handlebars a bit...

One note -- for the moment, I'm negotiating with Randy to swap the carbon crankset and Spartacus wheels over to the production bike, since I'm still intending to do some competitive stuff...  but that can all be figured out later

Even I'd still be interested.  It was just such a great bike.  I think I'd prefer the newer model though.

Why?  Rose gets a few thousand miles a year on her bike.  Think she can't handle it or something?

Hey to prevent scandal where Bud buys the bike for Rose and HE rides it  instead...  I think Rose needs to get the bike painted a custom color.  Such as Hot Rose Pink  kiss complete with custom "feminine" embroidery needlepointed on the seat.

But.. then again it will only increase my shame to be whoomped and passed by a chick on a pink bike!

Terry,

Considering Angie, Peggy, Steve and I were walking down Goatneck Hill at TTTT faster than you were riding, I think you have other concerns besides the awesome Rose.

The LSR saying "ride like a girl" is so, so true.  Peggy, among the other LSR exceptionally gifted and strong local woman ultra endurance cycling are a thrill to watch. Personally, I love it when I'm passed by one of them, and equally proud to ride with them (when I can).

True! True!

You (and Bud, greg, paul etc..) are blessed with wives who support your active lifestyle.  Plus Ride with you, and even stay up all night in the cold during TTTT.  Im hope I do as well when I find a permanent stoker babe for my EZ tandem.  Then maybe I can get her a XStream to ride with me.

Oh and if I hitchup with a woman that is as sweet as the RBENT ladies... and she can whomp me on a bike... I will say "Yes Ma'am" and be very happy to be her Home-boy and give her sport massages.

So just how many xtreams am I going to see at the TTTT next year? Looks like at least 4 (edit: 4 or more folks seem pretty interested). Any chance on a Team XStream?
