Please Post your favorite Morning Smoothie Recipes.
I like a protein smoothie in the morning. I started this when I read that an active person should have a gram of protein for every lbs they weight. My smoothies are of the following variation:
In a 48oz blender (enough for 2-24oz smoothes)
* Start with 12oz to 24oz or water or milk.
* Pulse-Blend 4 scoops of protein powder (2 scoops = ~100grams of protein) Chocolate or Vanilla.
* Pulse-Blend 1 to 4 bananas or whole load of frozen blueberries. Sometimes strawberry jam.
* Sometimes mash potato mix (for cabs and potassium). I usually microwave some in a coffee cup to a soupy mixture.
* Sometimes sour cream. For Slow burning calories from fat.
* Sometimes Ginkgo and Ginseng to wake my brain up.
* Sometimes some honey or cane sugar.
Finish with enough ice cubes to fill up the blender. I set on the max (liquefy setting) and stop as soon as they are crushed.
I don't like alot of air whipped into the mix so I blend as little as possible with the pulse button. Accept for ice cubes! I purchased cups with matching plastic covers and straws from Sam's Cub so that I can sip on the smoothie on the way to work. I can cover the second smoothie and save it in the frig for latter.
