Looking to Buy Front Racing Wheel
Aug 19th, 2008, 6:58am

Brad - I should have bought your Corima....

I'm looking for a 650c race wheel for the front only.  Preferences are a 3 or 4 spoke wheel, such as HED H3 or Corima.  If anyone has one they want to part with, or come across one, please let me know.

Thanks

Ray I see them all the time on ebay.  Clincher's are rarer though.

Take Care,
Nelson.

I'm sure I'll stumble across something Ray.   I'll keep my eyes open.

Watch for 650c bikes on Craig's list.   If you have time to market the parts, you can come out ahead.

I have a pair of Reynolds Stratus 46mm profile Carbon Clinchers here. I bought them on eBay for the High racer that I'm going to build.       I'm pretty happy with the VK2 and will run with it for a while.   I paid $671.00 for them and would let them go for that.    I run the 700c version of those on my road bike and can't say enough good things about the wheels.

Brad  and Nelson,

I'm hunting for a front, 650c clincher, affordable 3 or 4 spoke wheel, preferably HED or Corima.  The other mfg. are super expensive (Xentis, X-lab, etc..).

I hate to tell you this Ray but I passed on a nearly new Xlab a few days ago @$150 with shipping.  I'll keep my eye out for anything meeting your parameters.  Don't you have the nice Zipp 404's though?

Take Care,
Nelson.

saw this one on ebay earlier

Thanks Nelson - I saw that HED wheel yesterday, though I'd prefer a 3 or 4 spoke wheel.

Yes I have the Zipp 404's and a Renn disk.  I am going to run the Zipp's at TTTT and the disk on my spare bike (V3).  Thus, I'm looking for a front wheel to go with the disk on the V3.

Are there any other sites, besides ebay and craigslist that are reputable?

Brad, I might be interested in purchasing your Reynolds Stratus wheels.  Questions:
* Do you know approx. how old they are?
* Do you know the weight?  I looked on the Reynolds web site, and couldn't find them.
* What comes with the wheels?  Example, do they come with a casette?  If so, what size?

Thanks Nelson - based on the color pattern of the HED logo, these are older wheels.  I'll put a reasonable bid considering the seller only has 2 items on his history, and he only has a picture of the front wheel.

Thanks again - and everyone please keep looking for me.
