FWBA County Road Cool Breeze Ride
Jul 22nd, 2008, 11:35am

In case Goatneck doesn't get my goat on Saturday, I'm thinking about riding this FWBA club ride on Sunday. It starts in Arlington at 8:00 am at the shopping center parking lot at Sublett and SH287, near the Blockbuster, and travels a lot of the same small roads south of Arlington that other FWBA rides favor. There are route distances of 20, 35, 48, and 60 miles. You can get more information here.

Budster,
Thankyou very much for the info on this ride.  The traffic is light on Sunday mornings making it attractive for bicycle riding.  One Sunday a month I volunteer to serve as a usher in the parking lot.  So I cant make this ride.  BUT PLEASE keep posting these rides.  I need to get in better shape if Im going to run with the dogs.

My plan is to start riding on Sunday Mornings and goto the Saturday night or a weekday service at my church.  This is a good idea since the Sunday morning services are usally filled and I can free up a spot in the pew for somone else.

Bud, you'll be passing me in Bikejournal miles any day now, if you keep doing these double-weekend excursions...   Wink

I'm shooting for 900 miles this month. It would be the most miles I've done in a month. Goatneck's just 70 miles, and this ride 60, so together they're still just about the distance of a 200k.

I'm taking a day of vacation Friday, so I'll handle my crappie fishing addiction then. Smiley

No membership is required. Anyone can ride. This is not a very hill route, so it will be a good recovery ride for the day after Goatneck.

Come on out and do the 20 mile. FWBA has been getting good turnouts on their shorter routes this year. You'll have a cue sheet to follow, and the ride leader usually stays with the slowest rider. When the pace on the shortest routes get too slow for you, it'll be time to move on to the next longer route.
