I'm leading the "Distance Builder" Saturday morning group ride for the GDB club on May 17th, which is ~40 miles at a ~14-16 mph cruising pace, no drop (with regroups).  8AM departure from the southwest corner of Preston/Forest.  It's not a "beginner" type ride, since it'll be 40+ miles, but it's intended to be a good challenge for people wanting to get into those distances, who can already do 20-25 miles comfortably at 14-16...  optional lunch afterwards.
 
I'm planning to take the group from the Preston/Forest starting point, up into Plano and following the Richardson Wildflower "Wild Ride" route, intending to go up into Wylie and across the Lavon Dam.  If you're interested in joining in with some other DF riders, and are not already doing the "Wild Ride," please post below.

They have opened it for the Wild Ride -- at least they did in 2005!
 
My point was that, we'll essentially be "tailing" the Wild Ride, since it starts at 8AM that same morning!!!
