Bud, what type of sandles do you wear when riding your bent?  I want to order a pair, and haven't had much luck trying to find them on line.
 
What do you do to cover your feet when the weather gets cold?

Mine are Shimano sandals. They've changed since I bought mine. Mine have two straps; the new ones have three, so I can't testify how the new ones are, but I really like mine.
 
The soles are as stiffer than many mtb shoes, but not as stiff as good road shoes. I had trouble with hot spots on my feet back when I used spd pedals. After I changed to Bebop pedals, that wasn't a problem.
 
For socks, I wear Pearl Izumi Attack socks. When it's cold, I add wool socks on top of those, and Rocky Gore-tex socks (it looks like they've changed some, too) over the other socks. I tried neoprene booties over the sandals, but didn't like them. I've found that if it's really cold, I can add those small chemical handwarmer packs on the top of my toes, and my feet will stay toasty.

I don't know who has them around here, and I can't even say for sure that the new style feels just like mine. Shimano does seem to size their shoes correctly, and with sandals, width isn't a big deal. Call the cycle shops; I bet you can find some locally to try on.
 
I say they're good for brevets, but then I've never done a brevet wearing anything else on my feet, so I have nothing for comparing to.
 
I'm not familiar with Keen sandals.

I've got a pair of Lakes, 45/46 size, that I'd be willing to part with for a nominal fee...  They're just a LITTLE bit too narrow for me where the strap re-enters the base.   I can bring 'em to the dinner if you're attending....

I have the old style Shimano sandals and they work fine in the winter with double socks and toe covers when it gets real cold. I've seen them at RBM but i'm not sure they would have them this time of year. I haven't seen Keen bike sandals but their other shoes are good quality.
