Bontrager Hardcase couldn't handle it

Took a short cruise into Burleson Monday evening. Had just passed Starbucks doing about 22, when I felt like I had picked up something in the rear tire. At first, it sounded like something small and annoying then gradually increased in sound and feel. So I got it stopped to examine what it was. It was a nail, about 2 1/2 inches long, as gnarly as a witch's index finger. Worked it's way from the contact surface through the tire and out the side wall just above the rim. DJ

This was the second flat I've had on the back. The first one stranded me 'cause I broke the tire lever trying to get the tire re-seated. Not so with my new Pedro's levers! DJ

I went a thousand miles before my first flat and only about 400 more for the second. I rolled through grass burrs at the HHH and spent a few minutes picking them out of the tires. I thought sure they would puncture, but no flat, go figure.
