Well the ice trick worked, but I managed to destroy the fork in the process of learning how to do it. First of all you have to make sure the ice goes the entire length of the tube, or you get a wrinkle in the tube where the ice ends
Second, mark the location of the bend so that both tubes end up with the dropouts in the same location, which didn't happen this time
Third, have some way of measuring the amount of bend, so that the tubes match when looking from the side.
