Tour de Paris - July 21st

One of the best rides around IMO. Relatively flat course, very few cars and food at the end. It's worth the drive.

I couldn't agree more. The BEST community supported rally in N.Texas(IMHO). The course/rest stops are well marked & supported(enthusiastic to say the least),and the course is realively flat(perfect for 'bents). Very few cars.  The "yellow" T-shirt /logo is a play on the Tour De France. I can't say enough good things about this ride. The organizers of this rally get it.

Ditto.  I picked up my packet yesterday ("I'm #10.  Who is #1?") and had quite a nice chat with Earl and the rest of the good folks on the Tour de Paris team.  They've assured me that ride day will be both cool and sunny.   Cool

Looking forward to crossing paths with sstexex and his wife, as well as seeing all the usual suspects my recumbent buddies.

By the way, it was 108 °F when I finished the ride, last year.  The guy I rode with—an acquaintance from the bikejournal forum—had a tough time because of the heat, and he suggested to the EMTs at a couple rest stop that they should consider making pickle juice available in the future.  So, I asked the packet pick-up people about that, and the gal beamed with pleasure.  There will be pickle juice this year.

Mrs. "Strada" tells me I'm #1 all the time by signaling with her middle finger,is that what you mean??? Anyway, while pedaling away in Weatehrford,I missed out on the packet pick-up at Plano Cycle. Oh well,I guess we'lll get our "swag" Saturday.

I was thinking that I wished I'd known so I could have taken your receipts and picked up your packets for you, but that may not have worked since I don't think they'd have allowed me to proxy for signing the waiver forms.

Just wondering if John and Eddie are going to ride this one.  If you two are going, speak up.  Richard and I enjoyed the company at the Cow Creek Classic and I sure hope we get to ride together again.

I can do that on Wednesday.  Rode it 35 miles today.
Also I take lousy photos on the Giro.  Too much asphalt.
