RRR to the HHH
Jun 8th, 2007, 7:54pm

Scouted another route in MapQuest, this one was 137 miles through Lewisville. All FM roads once out of Plano until hitting US 287 and a whole lot less miles than taking TX 5 through McKinney. The ride in will hit the last mile or so of the 100 mile course.

Is anybody working on that T-shirt for RRR to HHH? How about using the Binford Tools logo (the fictional tool maker that sponsored the Tim Allen's fictional home improvement show on the Home Imptovement series).

So how many maniacs enthusiastic bicycle riders should I expect to ride with me?

I usually haul all my luggage on the bike, but if a luggage car is provided I will make use of it. I may be crazy, but I ain't stupid. My usual trips are like the lunch ride to Sherman this past weekend, and sometimes a trip to Waco to pick up a sixpack of real Dr. Pepper at the museum (I already admitted to being crazy, remember?). This ride will just be a bit longer than my usual rides, not all that much harder especially if everything but what I need immediately on the bike is in a luggage car.

I strongly suggest going on at least one lunch ride to Sherman if you're planning on the RRR. The hills going in and out of Sherman combined with the heat this Summer will make for a great training ride.

I sent in my entry today. I put RBENT as my team on the form, did anybody else do that?

I don't think I'm going to be able to do the RRR. I was stuck in TN for a month without a bike, and was dragged to a couple of hundred "all you can eat, we dare you" places while I was there, so my fitness is just a bit off right now, to the point that beating Hell's Gate is questionable. Anybody got a spare spot for my bike? I can use my food budget for gas, and I bought the spaghetti carb load dinner on Friday night.

Hey Opus, Im willing to drive  and split the cost of gas.  WARNING My jeep only gets about 15-17 miles per gallon.  And Im looking to go Friday Night and stay free at Hope Baptist Church (the RBent Barracks).  My draft master can haul your LWB without any problems.
