You Get What You Pay For

Decided to replace the worn 10-speed KMC chain on my Catrike Speed trike with some cheap Ebay chain (VG10 by VGT Sports). Big mistake. After I installed the new chain, decided to check it with a Park CC-2 Chain Checker. To my surprise, the checker readings were 0.05% (Chain should be replaced at or before 0.075%). I measured some new sections of KMC and SRAM chain and got 0% readings for both. Conclusion: Due to the loose tolerances of this cheap Chinese chain, it already has the equivalent of 67% wear, so it would require early replacement. I don't trust it. Hope it doesn't break before I can replace it with some KMC X10 chain. Lesson learned.
