Another vote for recumbents.  
 
Dot enjoying the forever home she got shortly after the 2016 Pedal for Paws.  Though it usually doesn't include the nice trike seat,  but after refusing to let mist and drizzle stop my weekend ride I had brought the trike inside to clean and dry.
 
Maybe I'll get one where Dot actually looks toward the camera rather than being quite so comfy.
