Tuesday, September 27 - VALOR GAMES SOUTHWEST in San Antonio
The Valor Games Southwest is a multi-sport event taking place September 26 -29.  The goal is to provide an adaptive sports competition to veterans and service members with a physical disability. San Antonio Sports will be hosting this event for the fourth consecutive year, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Texas Regional Paralympic Sports, a regional Paralympic sport program under United States Olympic Committee.
Mike will once more be wrenching for the cycling event competitors.  I have spoken with the organizers and they would just love to have anybody who wants to show up to support these determined athletes.
Website:  http://www.sanantoniosports.org/valorgames/
Address for the cycling competition:  The Alamodome, 100 Montana St., San Antonio  78210
Opening Ceremony on Sept. 27:  8:15 a.m.
Time of the cycling competitions:  Sept. 27, 8:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Saturday, October 8 - WACO WILD WEST 100 RIDE
The word is out and Easy Street is going to introduce our Hospitality Tent to support recumbent society.  Refreshments will be provided and we plan to bring a grill.  Billed as "the sweetest ride in Texas," according to all reports, this is a very fun ride and we plan to make it MORE fun!  Smiley  Fun is our vision.
Let me know you will be there, so I can tell you about being a part of Team Easy Street and so we can plan refreshments accordingly ... and, we want to be looking for you.  The plan is to stay until the last Easy Street rider is in.
Website:  http://wacowildwest100.com/
Address:  Austin Ave. and Third St. (south side of Convention Center), Waco
Ride starts:  8:00 a.m.

Sunday, October 23 - GEARS for the YEARS Inaugural Event
Family Eldercare is hosting this new event to help fund their many useful programs.   They have contacted us as a local business that has products and services useful to their clientele and -- we are enthusiastic!  We will be there with trikes on exhibit.  It sounds like a very well-organized and supported ride AND, I was told there will be a prize for the team with the most members -- let's go after that one!  When you register, be sure to put Team Easy Street under your team name.
Website:  https://www.familyeldercare.org/events/item/198-gears-for-the-years.html
Address:  Dell Diamond, 3400 E. Palm Valley, Round Rock  78665

October 26-27 - Operation Comfort Bicycling Camp

Mike (and Rebecca) go to San Antonio to be a part of this event.  Mike has been invited to present at the event co-hosted  by Operation Comfort and Adaptive Adventures as the "recumbent expert."  It will happen at the VA
.
EASY STREET TURNS 20 YEARS OLD IN NOVEMBER!!
We are celebrating all month!  We will host an event in each of our largest markets with a ride that includes a social event. There will be special "20-year" swag and we are looking forward to celebrating with ALL of y'all!  If any of you are available to help with any of these parties, let me know.  It will all be very casual and fun.
In summary, this is what plans look like at this time:

    Nov. 5 - Celebrate Houston!
THE WALLIS RIDE -- We will be there with the Hospitality Tent and party stuff ... come join us! It's another opportunity to support our veterans and their caregivers.
Registration fee is $35/person up until October 1st.  Once again, let us know once you are registered so we can plan refreshments accordingly.

Nov. 12 - Celebrate San Antonio!
We will be riding with OPERATION COMFORT, an excellent organization that "...provides support to our Service Members who have been wounded in Afghanistan or Iraq and are receiving treatment at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) and Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Wounded Service Members from all over the United States recover in San Antonio."  We have worked with these soldiers over the years, providing recumbent trikes as well as adaptive customization when called for.

Details about this event will follow.  We will be joining up with a group of their wounded warriors for a morning ride that ends up at the Blue Star Brewery.

Website to find out more about this organization:  http://operationcomfort.org/

 Nov. 19 - Celebrate Dallas/Ft. Worth!
Micah, who is from Ft. Worth and who is working with our customers from the DFW area and his homies, will be hosting this event.  We should have a great time.  We're workin on it -- details will follow!

 Nov. 25 - Celebrate Austin!
We are going to host an afternoon ride with a picnic to follow.  We're workin on this one too!

Curiousity was getting the best of me so this morning I asked the folks what's up with this ride.  Mike and Micah both responded, yes it's on 19 Nov on Carlisle Court in North Richland Hills.  The ride will be along the Cotton Belt trail and begin at 10am. Here is the facebook link https://www.facebook.com/events/1603231443306770/ hope it works.  For those of us who aren't facebook folks it's easy to find on a map, the street is light industrial and located about 3 miles north of 820 just off Rufe Snow blvd, Micah says pack a lunch and plan to have some fun.  Just saying there is a Sonic, KFC and Fuzzy's Taco within 3-5 minutes ride/walk of here if I remember correctly.

Alas, I'll be returning from Virginia that day, so can't participate.   Sad
