Time once again for the RBENT monthly ride starting at RBM Coit and Campbell at 8:00am  (you know you've been waiting for it)

Heres maps to the routes

Short: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/13980816 ~18.4 miles
Long: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/13980873  ~31.2 miles

and I'd like to propose and Xtra Long for anyone that wants to follow me for a few extra miles. making it ~40.9  https://ridewithgps.com/routes/13981153
(or you can meet at my house at 06:30 and make it a 100 mile day)  Smiley

The 700 threw its left skewer during a ride.  If I get a replacement on time, you'll see me there.  If not, well, another RBM ride I'm out of.  The Performer Saki is not yet fully optimized.   Smiley

i've got a full replacement for the front wheels on a 700 with 20" wheels.  Skewer, sleeve, hub, etc        I can swap what you need for yours and you can just replace it when your new one arrives.

I nickname the trike the "Purple Funny Car," but it would really be funny looking with one 16" wheel, and one 20-incher.  I just need the skewer assembly.  Do you know if all 700 skewers are interchangeable?  If so, I could meet you at the ride early, and we could do the install.

I really have no idea ..   Smiley  I didn't realize yours was the 16" variation ..   on the 20" the skewer is a standard bikeshop part.  The toadstool cap is the only catrike centric bit ..

We could give it a shot.  If you would, you might bring skewer, nut, washer and spring to the Evil Empire, and we could measure it against my right lever.  If Jay says he has everything, I'll call your supply off.  Thanks.

The only parts I have are the skewer and the custom springs in each end of the axle (If I recall correctly, I had to modify their length to match the length of the Catrike centric springs). The 3 remaining components that will be needed are Catrike centric, as stated by Doug.

The axle assembly on your 700 is not identical to that on Key's older 700 (See page 11 of the 2009 Owner's manual here: http://media.wix.com/ugd/be9aca_c93e035ccc934c25b9adba1ac6d81eb4.pdf), but still might work. Are there 15.32 mm diameter springs in both ends of the axle?

All set!  I went down to John's Bike & Trike Shop in Lancaster this afternoon.  After fighting I-75 all the way down, I was rewarded with the quiet, hometown atmosphere, (almost Mayberry feel), of Lancaster.  I was greeted at the door by my good friend, Peppermint Patti Erickson, who is still cutting her teeth in her new position there.  She showed me around, and yep!  There are tons of trikes there.  They are truly a Concept level Catrike store.  I browsed this candy shop while she looked for the skewer.  Finally it was found, installed, and I was on my way.  John himself wasn't there, but I know that this is a worthy place to bring my most prized possession.  Thank you, Patti!

So guys, see you all tomorrow at the Evil Empire.  Yes, I have the new-look black mushroom nut on the outside, but as long as I am rolling right, I'm good.
