Rodeo and Italy rides
May 9th, 2016, 5:14pm

Well, I've signed up for the Rodeo Ride in Mesquite, 08:00 Saturday, June 4, and the Tour d'Italia in Italy, Texas, June 18 @ 08:00.  Italy was my first tee shirt ride (in 1994), so it's kind of an old favorite.  Still $30 for that one.  Since it is still spring on the 18th, I don't expect it to be too hot.  Both rides have online signup, via a third party, which costs extra and is a PITA. but for Rodeo you can sign up by mail.  Or you can just show up that morning.  Anyone else?

Italy was my first tee-shirt ride too ..  I can't remember when it was, sometime in the early 1990s .. I probably can go look for the shirt as I would have kept it.  Even though like most things its "shrunk" with age  Grin        I'm iffy for the Mesquite ride as I'll be coming home from  overseas that friday and may just go ride one of club rides.  I've signed up for the Italy ride.   I expect to ride the Milan in it but could be talked into something else if there's a group that wants to ride together.

If the weather cooperates, I'm going to try to coerce Terrie to do the Rodeo ride 42 on the tandem this Saturday -- although the forecast isn't great at the moment.  It'll be a Friday night decision.

Similiarly, I'm actually able to do the Italy rally (myself) this year, after all...  This was the first ride Terrie and I did, back in 2005, when she was on the EZ-3USX.

I'm not going to preregister, given the random precipitation that keeps plaguing us, but I'm planning to do the ride if weather cooperates.  Anyone else besides Bob planning to go?  We could hang together as a group, the whole distance...

Chance of rain tomorrow morning, so I'm not gambling $40 on this ride.

Terrie's sleeping in, so if it's not raining, I'll either ride Rockwall or the GDB Airport ride.

I'm heading to the east side -- if I'm going to get wet, I want to at  least do it cheaply --

Still wasn't sure I was going to ride the Mesquite ride as I was crossing Lake Ray Hubbard with sprinkles on the windshield.   But that was the worst of it.  I wouldn't have ridden 40m if left to my own.

Kathy drove me down there to get packets for Joe and me, but we were too late to see you off.  Looked like a good day for a nice, hot ride!
