2016 Ride of Silence
May 4th, 2016, 12:04pm

Question came up, during last night's GDB WRL ride, as to when the Ride of Silence will take place. This year's ride is scheduled for Wednesday, May 18 at 7:00 PM.

I'll be at WRL for this. Will be riding down after work from around Renner & 75 in Richardson and passing closely by RBM to hit the White Rock Creek Trail to get to the lake. If anyone is interested in joining up enroute let me know.

I plan on doing something similar if work permits, will probably make a 100k out of it,  I don't like riding that trail at full speed so I will probably do the intercity route from RBM and cross over to the lake on southwestern ..

You happen to have a map of the route you would take?  I sometimes want to avoid taking the WRCT as well but don't know a good route down.

I can make one for you right quick --  Try this : https://ridewithgps.com/routes/13550048 its pretty much the route I always use.   The forest lane segment can be a bit tricky but the light timing is such that west bound you can just over to the left lane on your green and get to the south turn before the traffic gets their green .. and east bound just stay in the right lane, if its not clear to make your left, turn into the parking lot at the starbucks and loop around and cross forest at the light.

The formal start to my riding season.  I expect to be doing this from WRL, since I will be coming from work in Irving.  See y'all there, God willing and the creek don't rise...again!

Where you going to park? The usual place? What will your ETA be?

After punching out and changing, I should be on the road by 4:30 p.m.  In traffic, it'll take a good 50 mins. to get there.  I may get something from Subway, then go to the boat dock, my usual place to unpack the trike and eat.  Looks like I'm on the road to the RoS meetup by 6 p.m.
What're your plans?

I'll meet up with you at the boat dock, before you roll out at 6:00. I'll be riding my trike.

Very cool.
Out of shape as I am, 12 mph may be a challenge.   cry
