Rt 66 Bicycle Tour
Oct 13th, 2015, 4:55pm

Jim A, Kenny J Smiley and I (Richard R) are on our Rt 66 tour heading eastward across the TX panhandle and OK.  We left Dallas area Saturday morning for Amarillo.  On Sunday we rode west from Amarillo to Vega TX, then Monday we headed again from Amarillo east.  Currently we are in Shamrock, a few miles from the OK border.  We are using Kenny's car as a sag, taking turns driving, so we ride two half days and then a full day.

Keep us in the loop on the trip... there are some that are riding the desk that would rather be riding our bikes with you!

We stayed at the Hydro city park last night.  At about 8 the police came by and told us a storm was on the way and we could use a metal building they used for storage.  We moved in and at about 3AM it started pouring rain.  It was loud on the metal roof, but it was dry.  The rain stopped after breakfast this morning, so we were able to ride in the dry.  Right now we are just north on Oklahoma City in Edmond.  We are now over half way through our tour.
