My daughter suffers from CMT http://bit.ly/1ziJNJN and has lost the ability to ride a regular bike, we are hoping this gets her back on the road and with some self-confidence which all little girls need to become independent.      She's been on my 700 a few times but its been "too hard" to ride.     Having this e-assist drive and some custom programming I've put together for her should do the trick.  Rather than a direct assist, it will gradually add load over time until a given HR is hit then help keep it there.  ..  A lot like the old computrainers did indoors, except outside ..     With the multiple batteries, the endurance on that rig should be over 120(!) miles according to Falco.

I put 50 miles on it "testing it out"    Smiley and I have to say, I'm jealous

See the link, that's her bike in the pictures.  Though we've made some changes to it recently based on road testing. We will be out again today and get pictures then.

So, did you double the batteries? 120 miles is out of this world!!!

Adults should have fun so kids will want to grow up!

For every mile of road there's two miles of ditch.

I'd rather be sorry for something I did than for something I didn't do.

there are a total of 3  36v 11.6Ah battery packs on board.  Two on the rear-rail tubes and one on the downtube under the seat.   We did 45 cold miles @16mph average today around town and drained one to ~10% - we didnt enable either of the others .. so we are going to be pretty close to what the math said it should be.

What battery chemistry are you using?  Sealed Lead Acid?  Lithium ion?  NiCad?  NiMh?  Just curious as you depleted one battery pretty deeply, and that can definitely affect total battery life (and user safety depending on chemistry).

Panasonic cells.   40 Li-ion cells (10s 4p Config.), i'm also using the Panasonic battery management system in each pack of 3.  its for both charging, heat protection and it will cut power under a given voltage drop)
