Finally my Carbontrike is coming
Jun 2nd, 2014, 8:38pm

I ordered a Carbontrike from Sweden in September 2013 and today got an email that it is being shipped airmail July 23rd!!!!!. Yay.... after reading about it last year decided to take the plunge and order one. They are custom made , 100% carbon, and have a large backlog of orders, which is why 10-11 months wait. Hope to use it in Hotter Than Hell in August. Very very excited.  Currently riding a 2013 Catrike 700 and this one will be about 10 to 12 lbs lighter. Hope its worth the wait [and the cost].  Smiley
Has anyone seen one or rode on one?

I've never seen one in real life, but have always wanted to.  Pretty trike.  Congratulations!

Oh wow, now I'm definitely not going to be able to keep up with you Lawrie!!!   The price is not as high as I was expecting either. Can't wait to see you on it!

Thanks for the well wishes. Shelly, you are like the energizer bunny on your bent- just keep going and going and hills dont phase you. So you will always keep up, but thanks.
Today they requested all my measurements especially weight and x seam as they construct frame and boom accordingly, and change lay-up of fibre to optimise for weight and leg length to get the lightest possible and best suspension.

Today finalised the sale and the carbontrike is coming in about two weeks. Marten at Carbontrikes was extremely helpful and promised shipement the week of 21st. Will apparently go to DFW airport for customs clearance. Hope the process is easy- never done this before- anyone know the process in getting a package from Europe?

Sad I got a message from Carbontrikes today that their autoclave broke and couldnt finish the trike. They are hoping now to get it here by august 14th, the weekend before the H AND H.
I dont know whether I can get it unpacked and ready to ride in time, still have to clear customs as well. Certainly have no time to get used to it and test it out thoroughly before leaving on 22nd. This is really going to be a last minute decision IF it comes.

You're right, it's a problem, but I'd love to have that problem.  Smiley

I agree with that. I sound like a spoilt brat. Just anxious to get it after waiting in anticipation for a year.

Well, ITS FINALLY HERE!!!!!! The Carbontrike is apparently arriving tomorrow Thursday morning to DFW [where I will go to clear it through customs] after flights from Sweden to London, London to Austin and Austin to DFW. I hope to get it tomorrow or Friday and then possibly unpack and assemble it myself and just maybe ride it on Saturday am at RBM. Carbontrikes sent me very detailed , in-color assembly instructions. May still ride it in Hotter than Hell next week.......    Smiley
