WRL to Rowlett Brunch Ride, Sat. May 3rd
Apr 8th, 2014, 3:55pm

Assuming the weather cooperates, let's do a repeat of the ride we did last year, starting at WRL, and riding out to our place in Rowlett for breakfast, then riding back...    Saturday May 3rd...  Sorry, I know some folks will be doing the Bike MS ride...

Meet at Sunset Bay, for an 8:30 rollout...   we'll ride ~16 miles out to Rowlett, have breakfast on the patio, and ride back.   The RideWithGPS map is here:  http://ridewithgps.com/routes/114628

Please RSVP here, so we have an idea of how much stuff to fix!!!   There will be a "tip jar" if you'd like to pitch in a couple bucks towards the cost...

Enjoy,
Paul

Got some additional fun for you, for this ride...  on the way back, we can stop at Don Johle's Bike World, to browse through a Swap Meet...

OK, just had a fun idea...  related to the "shhh, it's a secret" Rambler trike birthday present for Terrie....

Her birthday isn't until the next Saturday, May 10th, but...  we could spring it on her after eating, at our house next week -- and with everyone's obvious approval of the present, she might not be QUITE as pissed at me for obtaining another bike...   Smiley  Smiley

Here's how it could go...  if there's a woman (or man) with a ~41" x-seam that is joining us on the brunch ride, I could bring the trike to you Thursday or Friday evening, and you would ride it from WRL to our place in Rowlett -- while Terrie and I are both riding along on the tandem.  We're actually going to drive in to WRL with the tandem, and leave the car there for the return.  So, we would pretend the trike is yours, and perhaps talk about how much you like it, along the way -- whatever...

We get to the house, everybody eats, and then eventually, we all wander back out to the driveway/garage, and suddenly break into "Happy Birthday To You" while I wheel the trike up to her... again, to everyone's obvious approval!!!   Smiley   And then give her a chance to take it up and down the block for a bit.

I doubt she will be up for riding it the 15 miles back to WRL -- so whomever rides the trike out to Rowlett, can either jump on the back of the tandem with me, or perhaps ride the Rocket back to WRL while I ride the Xstream.  Or if she wants to ride the tandem back to WRL, you could either ride the trike back, or the Rocket.

Devious, no???   Smiley

Is there a potential trike-riding candidate (with her approximate x-seam of 41") that can help out with this plan??  Everybody else up for a birthday surprise??   Smiley

Actually, I realized it doesn't have to be someone with 41" xseam, it can be almost anyone from there on up, because the seat adjusts...  just can't be much shorter, due to boom/chainlength setting.  Any volunteers?   SPD pedals.

My X-seam is 45.  Does the seat adjust that far?  I can dig out my SPD-cleated shoes.  If you'd like, I can do the sneaky deed, if anyone can believe I'd ride another trike,  Grin.  Just have paramedics on hand when folks faint from laughter.
