Lancaster rally Preride, this SUNDAY 4/6, 9:30AM
Apr 1st, 2014, 4:06pm

The GDB gang is doing a preride this SUNDAY (Not Saturday)...  I'm planning to join in.  We will be rolling at 18-ish mph -- if any of you folks would like to join in, you're welcome.....  let me know.

Paul

9:30AM Rollout. Plan on either 42 miles or 62 miles with 2 rest stops. Mileage and route can be altered with a group vote.

We’ll meet at the gazebo in downtown Lancaster for a 9:30am ROLLOUT. Here’s a link for the gazebo. http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM7M4H_Heritage_Park_Gazebo_Lancaster_TX

I have maps for both the 62 and 42. The bluebonnets are starting to peak out and the grass is getting greener! It will be nice to see “seasonal color” along the route.

Lunch will be at Romo’s. Bring your appetite and - if you desire - an adult beverage of choice. The restaurant does not offer – and does not mind - if you bring in your own adult beverage to enjoy with your lunch.

Please note: This is a challenging course out in the country without support. Please insure you have adequate hydration, food and a well maintained bike - as well as tubes/air in case there is a problem. It's a long way back to the car when there is no SAG.

I was debating where to ride. Brenda is doing my Itasca Disasta 200k on Saturday. That's my birthday, and for years, I've ridden double my age on my birthday. I've turned into such an old f*rt, it takes a 200k to do that now. Roll Eyes

I haven't been doing anything except short rides lately and would probably struggle mightily on a 200k right now, though. But I'm supposed to close down a bar on my birthday, so I may not be in great riding shape early Sunday, either. We'll see.
