Chisholm Trail Parkway
Feb 27th, 2014, 9:22pm

Run and Ride the Chisholm Trail Parkway" activities will include cycling and running activities. For runners, a half-marathon, 5K and 1 mile kids' fun run are being organized. For cyclists, bike rides of 12, 30 and 50 miles are being planned. Tentative plans include a celebration and concert in Cleburne at Buddy Stewart Park on U.S. Highway 67 at the southern end of the CTP.

It will be on May 10.  The event will stage out of the new Clear Fork Park/Trailhead in the new Clear Fork Ranch development. Runners will be shuttled out 13.1 miles to the south and run back to Clear Fork while the 5K will be a loop or out and back.   The bike rides all will be out & back along the new Chisholm Pkwy.

Not much info there yet, but it should be an interesting 50-miler, south to Cleburne then back north

Figure it's a chance to ride so clean fresh asphalt...

I came across the info at work after listening to a few runners talk about it.  Seems like details are still being ironed out like how to keep runners and bikes separate etc.

Ride start is like 1/4 mile from my place if anyone wants to park and ride, use the pool afterwards, grab lunch, etc.  I'm going to try and burn the hell out of some roadies on the 50.

Hope it's not a big mess, considering it's walkers, runners, cyclists, etc....  enjoy!

I am hoping to make this ride... It all depends on my back.  Lately all I have been able to do is trainer spins. Maybe the coming warm weather will help

With a 10 AM start, looks like I will ride from Burleson to the start, take the parkway to Cleburne, hop off at the end and ride back to the house.  DJ

Looks like this will be my first formal ride since my injury ... 6 months.  I plan for the short route and will ride by feel.  If all is good an there is no discomfort I will try the longer ride.

Greg - I'm signed up. I'll take you up on starting at your house. I'll bring the F-40 so maybe I can keep up with you for a little while.

Easily, I'm sure!  You want the spare bedroom for Friday?  I forget how close or far home base is for you.

Thanks for the offer - but since the ride starts later at 10am it looks like my wife Robyn and I will be driving up early in the morning from Austin. I'm up for meeting afterwards - relaxing and having a brew for a bit.
