Rowlett Post-Turkey Roll, Friday Nov. 27  10A
Nov 19th, 2013, 3:53pm

CHANGING THE START TIME TO 10AM, TO LET IT WARM UP A BIT!!!   PB -- 11/25

Just throwing this out there, if the weather cooperates...  Whoever might want to meander out to our house in Rowlett the Friday morning after TGiving Day for a social ride, I've mapped out a 26-mile route out to Sachse and back, exploring the 190 service road and new road/path construction of Merritt and Bunker Hill Rd.

Roll out is at 9:00AM -- this will be a casual, conversational pace, no drop, but with occasional elevation changes -- so NOT a totally flat route.  Return will be around 11:30ish, with the possibility of stopping at Hubbard's for brunch when we get back to Rowlett.

We'll keep an eye on the weather, and plan to ride unless it rains or if it's below 50 and cloudy...  Our house is 3402 Summer Solstice, Rowlett, on Miller Rd about 1/4 mile west of the LGBT tollway.   Roll Eyes

Sounds like fun, but I'm going to be visiting my parents out of town.  Have fun and ride safe.

I would but the commute is just too far!   Grin

I think I should be able to make it - pending any plans already made for me that my wife hasn't told me about yet.

Hmm...sounds fun on the tandem, but would need to figure out what to do with the Monkeys for that length of time...

Forecast for Friday looks sunny, but an overnight low around freezing -- SO, we'll go ahead with the ride, but delay the rollout time till 10AM.... just to let it warm up a bit!

IF YOU ARE PARTICIPATING:  GATE CODE

Our neighborhood has a silly entrance gate...  enter 1 3 2 on the code box, and it will call my phone so I can open the gate...  Our house is straight ahead, about 50 yards.

Looks like it will be me on the Giro--Dave will be home sleeping whilst the Monkeys rampage about.  He's getting up EARLY to go to some of the BlackFriday sales.

Nice casual area exploration this morning!  Had Ken, Tony, John, Carolyn, and Vicki along, with Terrie and I on the tandem...  traveled some nice new double-lane construction up into Sachse, with a brief neighborhood additional detour for bonus miles, and finished up with 22.5 miles a little after 12:30.  Turned out to be a very nice morning for a late-start ride...   Thanks to everyone who made the trip!

Yeah it was a good one and I've never been through beautiful downtown Rowlett.
