How practical are body socks?
Nov 1st, 2013, 9:09pm

I've just installed a terra cycle /mueller WERX fairing on my V2 commuter bike. If I can manage to get home during daylight hours, I'll take a photo to post. I'll probably get a body sock also, just for fun...so here's my question: how windy can it get before a body sock becomes a bad thing? 5 MPH? 10 MPH?

Your question can probably be answered by Kenny J, but he's in Mineola this weekend.

Tiger!  I use mine mainly when temperature drops around 45 degrees, it help to keep cold wind off and is warmer. How ever the sock will increase your speed considerably. That said, a side wind is the only thing that interfeares with handling. A side wind around 15 mph will keep you alert, a 25 mph side wind will put you in the ditch. If you want to stay warm and go fast it beats losing 25 pound.. Go Clowns!! Smiley

What material is it made from and how did you fasten it on?  I've been thinking of doing this to my P-38 rather than dropping 2k on the F-40 kit.

I'm going to get mine from Melanie at Free Form Fashions. http://bikeroute.com/FreeFormFashions/index.php

This seems to be the main source for body socks. I already have the tail sok frame from terra cycle to make the aft mounting point for the sock.

Hmmm... I wonder if she'd make one for the Seavo...?
