http://www.tourdegruene.com/ Through the Hill country should be a scenic ride.
I did it last year, on that one the first half was extremely flat while the last half was hilly, they made a change and it's all going north into some hills. It's an EXCELLENT ride with the last 15 miles along the Guadalupe river which is spectacular.
Only problem however is they had some flash floods in the area which for now have washed out a couple of sections of that last 15 miles
http://www.tourdegruene.com/news/tour_de_gruene_recreational_tours/ I will be there hoping it's a temporary problem that will be resolved. Here's my take on last years ride, the 35 mile route will be going to the north, they eliminated that northeast section this year. By all means do it!
