Chain length?
Aug 28th, 2013, 1:03pm

Now I need to start preparing for future maintenance.  How long and how many chains will it take for my Strada when time comes for a new chain?

Thanks,

Sam

If you're Strada is anything like my Giro, you will need two and change, (order three).

So just how many chains does you're Seavo take?

It's cheaper to just order a single length chain from Bacchetta. Only need to use one quick link connector (supplied w/chain). See: http://shop.bacchettabikes.com/parts/drive-train/sram-pc-971-chain-w-master-link .html

I need to find out for the Seavo too.  It will need a new chain also in about 400-500 miles.  I am more confident as to the mileage on the Seavo chain than the Strada chain.

Thanks Jay, I didn't realize that was a possiblity.  I need go out there and see what all they have that to offer.

As Jay indicated, Bacchetta sells whole chains.  I would point out, they sell 11 or 12 foot lengths, and if it is for a Bacchetta, they will cut it to exact length.  T-trike and other online sites sell chain by the foot, too.

the RANS website has chain length charts for all their bikes.  Seavo Front = 110", Seavo Rear = 120"

Or, just call them and ask for Eddie, and tell him what you need.
