I did this last year and it was my first time. Got left in the dust by all the bent riders from here, but no worries, I knew they would all be much faster than me and I just wanted to finish. After training for the 100K, and once we got up to a beautiful cool morning and predictions of upper 80's for the highs, after some encouragement from my fellow Lamar/RBENT folks, I went for the 100 miles (the final decision was made right at the turn for the 100K/100 miles) and completed about 91 total in like 9 hours or something like that. NEver before or since have I gone that far at one time. The 35 MPH headwind after riding all day, and the fact that I need to get back to my shared ride helped my decision to SAG the last few miles. I'd still do it again if I could but the ride from GA is too much this time. Maybe one day... For those that have never done it, do it- it sure was fun!
