River City Recumbent Roll November 2013

Okay I spend the hot summer days dreaming about fall and winter riding. Thoughts turn to the River City Recumbent Roll we want to do in November. I really want to ride the Leon Creek Greenway. Saw this video on You Tube:

We all don't have to do the exact same ride like our tires are attached though. Ride what you want to in the San Antonio area. We can make this a recumbent party in San Antonio!
 
Have it narrowed down to the first or second weekend in November. Let's hear your thoughts on the date.
 
This is NOT an "organized ride." No cost, no frills, no nothing -- just a bunch of friend getting together in San Antonio to ride.  
 
I'm going to start a "River City Recumbent Roll" Facebook page so we can share ideas and information.

I Pricelined a room on the Riverwalk last night for November 2. Hotel rooms are not cheap in San Antonio -- ESPECIALLY the Riverrwalk. Didn't think I had anowball's chance in Texas to get one. Entered a big of $60 for a three and a half star hotel. It TOOK IT!!! Got a $150 a night room for $60!!! Plus, they had you enter a coupon code of SUMMER before you submitted your bid, and you got a little MORE off the bid price!  But like most upscale hotels, no free breakfast and you pay out the kazoo for parking. But I have never stayed on the Riiverwalk!  
 
The trail head for the Leon Creek Greenway is up near I 10 West and 1604 (northwest San Antonio) if you wanted to stay up there. Out by UTSA.
 
The RCRR is really starting to mushroom! Our friends in San Antonio are On It and making sure everything is in order for the Recumbent Party November 2 and 3. Right now it looks like a roll on the Leon Creek Greenway trail on Saturday afternoon, and the Mission Trail or just riding around the city on Sunday morning. Of course there is San Antonio to do on Saturday night! Our friend Steve Wood has a music gig (he is the Sound Man) at a place over in Breckinridge park Saturday night. There is always the Riverrwalk and things to do downtown.  
 
Don't have a trike to ride in San Antonio? Steve Wood (owner of San Antonio Bike Tours) has trikes for rent for $40 a day ($70 a day for tandem).
