I need a place to train without alot of petroleum users.
I live at 1731 Cliffcrest Drive, Duncanville, Texas. I am a nubee and according to Steve Greene, "Overland
Triker" I need to prepare a year to travel so I have been using a stationary recumbent at the gym and the
treadmill. I also have working on my back excersizes to include abdominals. But if you know of any areas
to train, please send me a list. You guys rock!!!!!!!!
Welcome to the bright side of cycling. Wow, with all the preparation before the actual experience you belie your name. IMHO, (as a triker who occasionally bikes), stationary recumbent training will only prepare your recumbent muscle groups, which is a great thing, but there's the whole matter of balancing the bike in all circumstances. And it certainly comes, but it takes time.
You should come to White Rock Lake and ride with the Clowns on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Folks come riding all different speeds.
We meet at 8 a.m. at Barbec's Restaurant, then ride, or you may meet us at the Lake. Nowadays, we are meeting at Sunset Bay, if I have my info straight. My Clown Ride season starts this Tuesday. Let me know if you need something to ride before yours arrives, and I will loan you mine. I have a Performer midracer. It's not an Adventure by any means, but you'll be riding. PM me and LMK.
