Trishop's Ride of Silence
May 15th, 2013, 10:37pm

So, earlier in the day I called Trishop and asked, "Will the Ride of Silence there happen rain or shine?" I got a definitive "Yes". After work I sat in the special experience of nine miles' worth of Midway rush hour traffic to arrive at the shop and have one of the guys say that just an hour and a half ago, the ride was "cancelled". Really, rescheduled for the 22nd. After all the prep it takes me to get there.
Anyway, as I was walking out, Doug, who said he was to be the Ride's leader was nevertheless still going to do the ride. One other RoS rider, Brad, "BCR" invited me to come along. "Sure!" ...and off we went. So glad there was something to do other than just go back home. Thanks so much Doug for taking us out regardless of the weather...which actually held for our entire 10-mile lap, except for a little bit of drizzle once. A good time on a nice route.  Nice pace, too, 9.92 miles at 14.4 mph.  We were often north of 17 mph.
