Next RBM trike ride Nov 3 at 9:30
Oct 17th, 2012, 6:19am

Since the first 3 wheel recumbent ride was successful, RBM will be hosting a monthly ride. it will be on November 3, and December 15. I see this dates are empty for rides and events (per Joel Hernandez at RBM). Same time 9:30, same place RBM front door, same route Richardson. Monthly ride will vary on calendar events each month.

They were talking about having 2 groups, a slower one and a faster one. They did not leave anyone. So even slow pokes (like me) can come and have fun!

I'm thinking of making it a regular thing for me, especially if they have separate groups.

See you Saturday!

My husband and I will be there. Don't know if our son will make it due to school work but if he gets far enough along, we'll bring him too. Who else is joining the group on Saturday?

I just got late word from Richardson DPW.  They've installed temperature sensitive fire extinguishers along the route in case a blistering pace lights up the tarmac, so it looks like I'll be there.   Smiley

I have loaded my trike in my truck so I plan on making this ride in the morning.

A few weeks ago, the trike developed a really strange noise, and I couldn't pin it down.  The Good Guys bike shop, after a week of delay, and replacing cassette, and innerds, took it for a ride and deemed it healed.  Not so.  My first pedal evoked the same problem as before, a kind of skiddering in the pedal cycle, not smooth power transfer.

Last night, not a mile into the ride, I was fed up.  I lifted the rear wheel, and turned the crank.  It was the IDLERS.  Well, I will be bringing the beast in to the shop yet again, to fix this problem, if they are equipped.

The disappointing thing is that I won't be on the Trike Ride tomorrow, as the trike is unrideable.  Have fun for me!

FWIW, I'll be cutting a few 14T idlers out of SS316 on the laser later this week just to see how they come out. Our laser needs a new ballscrew so some segments of a circle tend to have some tiny ridges so they won't be usable but at least I'll have an idea of whether we will make or buy our idlers after this.

And yes, we'll be replacing the ballscrew sometime later this year.
