Mesquite Saturday morning ride - 10/20
Oct 16th, 2012, 11:48am

Anyone interested in doing a ride in Mesquite Saturday (10/20) am.  Weather looks to be great for a ride.  Rolling at 8 am at the usual clown pace of 13-14 mph.  No drop but please be able to average 12+ mph.  I have a couple different routes we could do:

~ 44 miles
http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1816694

~30 miles
http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1457564

I haven't ridden out here in a couple months so I thought it would be fun.  Let me know if there is any interest as if it is just going to be me - I may opt for the Plano Eastside ride instead.

With an 8am start I would probably be able to swing the 44 miler.  Let me check on my noonish plans and I'll get back to you.  Smiley

I forgot to mention we will be starting from Poteet HS.  For those not familar it is here:

Though I haven't had any issues - they have signs in the parking lot about tresspassing that scare me when I park there.  Also, one Saturday I was going to park in the big lot there on the corner of Galloway & Poteet Dr but didn't.  When I got back from my ride they turned the entire parking lot into a recycling station for the city.  Luckily I had parked in the small parking for the baseball fields that is directly behind the school (you can see it on the map) and accessed by Poteet Dr.  If it looks like anything might be going on in the big lot - I will be parking by the baseball fields.

Lawson Rd is closed for a bridge replacement between Clay Mathis and Cartwright for the next 5 months. Just follow the detour signs by taking a right on Clay Mathis, left on Edward-Church Rd then a left on Cartwright back to Lawson Rd. It's not everyday you get a few extra miles.
