I did, eventually, find them at Home Depot but only after I looked in several places. No one there knew where they were. Interestingly, I found them in two different places : in one of those "specialty" drawers and also in plumbing. They were not only a challenge to find but also a challenge to locate the correct size. NOTHING in those drawers is ever in the right place. Anyway, I finally found the right size to fix Steve's chain tube and keep it from sliding into the chainrings. The clamps work great to replace the zip ties that kept snapping. I'll keep Ace Hardware in mind for the future. I suspect they might be more on the ball about what they carry than most folks at HD and Lowes. Thanks for the tip.
