I drove to town yesterday over the 'grey elephant bridge, which no one uses!and saw the west side lane painted with a bike emblem in center of it from the beginning only  
Sad to say I witnessed a near fatality(cycle /car) once so feel good about this marking
Somhow think those new members who live downtown may have seen this already but , think it was there all the time!

Because of my responsibility to my mother, can't get out much if, at all and lady friend doesn't come over until afternoon.

Maybe I should have not mention my first post about bike signs, they are GONE[b][/b] not painted over, but scraped off concrete was it the city of Dallas who did it? Or a cycle hater?

Yes! it is very high arched!When I throw over grown up kitchen waste  from a 5 gallon bucket for fish, it disperses by time it hits the water

The Jefferson street bridge markings were problematical anyway, since it put the bike lane on the left side of the road, to keep it away from the merge lanes coming in from the right.  Then, apparently, you were supposed to cross into the right lane further along.  I have always used the right lanes to cross, looking for merging traffic.  It's hair-raising either way.  But at least you get the thrill of having cheated death!
