Option #1 is Weston Loop.  We can ride as many loops of the CR125/Weston Road/CR 171/CR 2478 as folks want.  One lap gives us a ride of just over 36 miles.  Each additional lap is another 15.4 miles.  If needed I think I might be able to volunteer Vicky to run a SAG stop for water and food.  Or there is a small cafe in Weston.

Option #2 is McKinney/Weston/Gunter/Celina.  This is about 55 miles with several places to fill up on water and food, (convenience stores in Gunter and Celina).

On both routes the hills are "reasonable", the roads are ok, (Weston road is brand new pavement and smooth as anything!) and the traffic is generally pretty light, (although Lake Forest and 1461 can be busy).

Hopefully I've recovered enough from this bug that I'll be good to go.  I'm itching to get a good ride in.

Let me know what you think.

And yes, I will be happy to run a sag stop for folks if you opt for the Weston loop.

I could try and meet you at my 5 mile mark, your 9 mile mark; I would then break from you at your 48, my 43.5.  It would end up giving me almost 52 miles...that would be a new distance record for me.  http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1257842

Anywhere to eat in Gunter or Celina if necessary?

Anyone else want to join in?  I suspect we will try and keep the pace up a bit more over the last CCRBENT ride, but as I'm still riding my pace will probably be around the 10-12 MPH average.

Are we still going to try a June CCRBENT ride, or are we just doing the CCC this month?

I think you and Dave on the Saturday ride will BE the CCRBENT ride this month!

As for places to eat, there is Sonic in Celina and Gunter too.

It's interesting to me to think that I will be in close proximity to 3 different Sonic's on a single bike ride... Shocked

One cannot assume that riders won't show up regardless of the responses on the board. I would be up for 30,50 or whatever. Name the starting place and time and I and probably others will show up.

Starting location: Krogers parking lot at Lake Forest & Eldorado Pkwy in McKinney.
Start time: SAturday June 2, at I'll guess 8:00am but Dave may change that so be sure to check this thread.
Ride leader: Dave DeKnight  (you can PM him for his cellphone.)
SAG support if needed: Vicky DeKnight ( me --you can PM me for my cell or ask Dave on the ride ). Or you can make your own arrangements.

Dave will let folks know if it will be the Weston Loop(s) or the Celina/Gunter/Weston route.  If it is the Weston Loop(s) I can be available to run a water stop along the way if desired.

Jim, we can certainly meet up there.  Be advised though, that is a bit of a nasty corner coming from my direction.  I'd suggest meeting up where Weston Road and CR125 meet.  In fact just west on CR125 there is a nice pull out on the south side of the road by a creek.  I usually stop there to uh, hmm, check the trees...     SmileyThats it...

There is a small cafe in Weston, their hours are kind of random however.  They may or may not be open.  If we get up to Gunter, there is food to be had there.

All, It looks like for any interested the meet will be at the Krogers at the NE corner of Lake Forest and Eldorado Parkway in McKinney at 0800 on Saturday.

Excuse my ignorance, but what does the "CC" stand for.

In case of potential storms I will not be there.  Let's hope the weather man is right this time and the storms stay to the north.

I'll be at Kroger at 0800 unless there are severe storms in the area, (riding in hail is no fun and tornadoes make for really killer headwinds).

If it's decent weather I/we should pick you up at Weston/CR125 around 9-9:15 Jim.

My job said that they won't be needing me tomorrow at all, so I'm in, storms or not.  During this past year I've ridden through everything...even pea-sized hail.  Even if it rains, it will be warming up so quickly that it shouldn't matter. 40% usually means it will probably be short-lived.

See you in the morning!
